Payne holds talks with Japan minister

Defence Minister Marise Payne has held top level talks with new Japanese defence minister Tomomi Inada in Japan, discussing regional security and boosting defence ties.
Ms Payne and Ms Inada undertook to work together on new opportunities to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation.
"I was pleased to visit Japan to meet Minister Inada, and confirm the importance of our bilateral defence relationship. I look forward to working with Minister Inada to further broaden and deepen our strong defence partnership," Senator Payne said in a statement.
