Paul Erickson confirmed as ALP secretary

Paul Erickson has been confirmed as Labor's national secretary at a party executive meeting.

Mr Erickson, who was assistant secretary from 2014, had been acting in the top job since Noah Carroll brought forward his resignation last month after Labor's shock federal election loss.

The ALP's national executive met on Friday to elect Mr Erickson, making him a key force in the party's rebuild following a demoralising defeat in May.
