Patient dachshund walks very slowly with elderly owner

Patience has proven to be the ultimate virtue for one loyal dachshund, who has warmed hearts around the world with its considerate steps beside an elderly owner.

The tiny dog was filmed out for a walk with a slow-moving man, who walks with the assistance of a cane.

But the pooch seems unfazed by the glacial pace, and occasionally stands still before taking another step.

The video has been viewed more than 82,000 times since it was uploaded to YouTube on April 12.

It is believed the pair were filmed in South America.
