Paris agreement should be legally binding

Agreements reached at global climate talks in Paris need to be as legally binding as possible, the French ambassador to Australia says.

About 150 world leaders will gather in the French capital later on Monday (AEDT) to outline their positions on curbing global emissions.

"We've said it needs to be dynamic, that means that we probably will need to review (the commitments) every five years," Christophe Lecourtier told ABC radio of a likely agreement.
