Paraplegic man's custom motorbike stolen in Adelaide

A paraplegic man's specially-modified motorbike has been stolen from his Adelaide home, prompting calls for an immediate return.

Ben Harris was left paraplegic after a bike crash 17 years ago.

Since then, the qualified welder has been working hard to modify his machine so he could leave his wheelchair behind.

"Went to go in and have a look and work on it and noticed my locks had been cut," Mr Harris said.

"I couldn't believe it."

Now, Mr Harris' friends and family are determined to not give up on finding the thieves who broke in to Ben's Morphett Vale home and took his hand-crafted custom KTM.

"He's inspirational, most people give up and he's never given up," Ben's sister Alysha said.

The theft happened between Thursday and Sunday last week.

Police are continuing their investigations, calling on anybody who may have seen suspicious activity on Acre Avenue late last week, to come forward.

Mr Harris and his loved ones are pleading for the bike to be returned.

"It means the world that there's people out there that are putting in all this effort to help me," Mr Harris said.
