Medic charged over alleged sexual abuse while giving first aid at Sydney station

Two women aged 21 and 25 were allegedly sexually abused by a medic as they were being treated at a Sydney train station.

The privately employed medic was arrested at Jannali, in Sydney's south, around 8am today and has now been charged.

Police allege the sexual abuse took place at Redfern Railway Station last month.

Paul Thistlethawaite, 38, was taken to Sutherland Police Station.

He later fronted court and walked free on bail this afternoon.

Officers seized a mobile phone, electronic equipment and clothing, and investigations continue.

Police will allege in court the man used his position to provide first aid services at the station, and inappropriately touched two women during separate examinations on Friday, July 26 2019.

He was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today. T

he man was stood down from his role as a private medic during the course of the investigation.
