‘Paedophile hunter’ fears for his safety after being charged

Adelaide’s so-called "Paedophile Hunter" has said he's concerned for his own safety after he was arrested and charged.

The 42-year-old has been charged with aggravated assault, publishing the identity of someone charged with a sex offence, and using a carriage servie to menace, harass or cause offence.

The arrest came just a day after he criticised officers online, saying he would have caught "six to seven" paedophiles in the past week if there had been better co-operation from police.

He also told 9NEWS he was worried about his safety, and said some people who don't agree with his actions were out to get him.

Officers have made clear that today's charges won't affect the investigations into the men the vigilante engaged with, but urged people in possession of similar information to pass it on to police rather than attempt to act on it.
