Billionaire James Packer, sporting a fading bruise around his eye, has accompanied his former wife Erica Baxter to the funeral of healthcare magnate Paul Ramsay.

The pair arrived at a church in the NSW southern highlands town of Bowral on Friday to pay their respects to Mr Ramsay, who died last week aged 78 from a heart attack.

Pictures taken earlier by News Corp Australia caught the former husband and wife boarding a helicopter in Sydney along with businessman Kerry Stokes.

It's the first time they've been seen together publicly in Australia since their split.

Photos show Mr Packer walking into the church with Ms Baxter just days after his Bondi punch-up with Network Nine boss David Gyngell.

His ex-wife shunned traditional black in favour of a dark blue ensemble to farewell her good friend.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott, Liberal predecessor John Howard and Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove were also in attendance, as well as broadcaster Alan Jones and cricketer Brett Lee.

Ms Baxter touched down in Sydney on Thursday ahead of the late billionaire's funeral, narrowly missing her ex-husband's rumoured flame Miranda Kerr at the airport.

That night, Ms Baxter was photographed visiting TV personality Leila McKinnon, who is married to Mr Gyngell, and heavily pregnant.

Ms Kerr, meanwhile, has jetted off to Shanghai for promotional duties.
