Man sent flying over bonnet during Queensland road rage incident

Queensland Police are appealing for dash-cam footage after a man was allegedly sent flying over the bonnet of a car when he was rammed in a violent road rage incident.

Police were told that on December 19 about 9.30am, a white Hyundai Elantra had been driving north on the Pacific Motorway at Nerang, near the Gold Coast, when an Isuzu ute merged onto the highway.

Police said the Hyundai driver overtook the ute, yelling at the ute's 52-year-old driver to get out of the right-hand lane.

The Hyundai then allegedly tailgated the ute and overtook the car before breaking suddenly.

About 9.50am both drivers left the Pacific Motorway at Oxenford and pulled over at the corner of Roadshow Way and Entertainment Drive.

Both the Hyundai's driver and the ute's driver got out of their cars.

The Hyundai driver then quickly got back into his car, and allegedly rammed the 52-year-old, sending him flying over the bonnet of his car before driving away.

The 52-year-old's son was in the ute with him, and the son then drove his father home where they called an ambulance.

The collision with the Hyundai left the 52-year-old with a fractured wrist and a broken knee.

The incident was reported to Queensland Police on January 6, with detectives now asking anyone with footage of the Hyundai to come forward.
