Mother charged with murder of three-year-old girl

A woman has been charged with the murder of a three-year-old child in NSW's Central West.

Emergency services were called to a home in Orange about 7.30pm on August 1 after concerns were raised about the residents' welfare.

Police said they found the child deceased and her 40-year-old mother semi-conscious.

The woman was hospitalised and last night she was released into police custody and charged with murder.

The mother is expected to face court today.
