Queensland opposition leader defends 'recycled' jobs policy

Queensland opposition leader Annastacia Palaszczuk launched into her first day of campaigning focused on jobs.

Ms Palaszczuk was in the state’s top north, focused on youth unemployment in Cairns where 4000 young people are looking for work.

If Labor wins government it will reinstate the Skilling Queenslanders for Jobs program that the Premier axed.

Facing criticism for pushing a recycled policy, Ms Palaszczuk was scathing in her response.

“What was Campbell Newman’s new policy today? I didn’t hear a new policy today from Campbell Newman,” she said.

The Leader of the Opposition was tight-lipped, however, on how the state would pay for the program, maintaining only that it would be revealed later in the campaign.
