Police investigate following fierce house fire in Sydney’s west

NSW police will investigate a fire which gutted a home at Doonside, in Sydney’s west, after they confirmed no one was injured or inside the home at the time of the blaze.

Firefighters rushed to the Hammon Avenue home at about 5pm after reports of a large fire.

The blaze quickly caused the roof to collapse and has caused extensive damage to the building.

A NSW Fire and Rescue spokesman said an initial check of the building determined no one was inside but that they had no contact with the home’s owner.
