Western Australian One Nation Senator Rodney Culleton has announced his resignation from the party.

Posting his resignation letter on Twitter late on Sunday night, Senator Culleton said he will continue his term as an independent senator.

He also cited a fraught relationship with Pauline Hanson and a slew of policy splits between he and the party. "Policy decisions have been run in morning media, with no consultation, discussion or agreement from the party room and personal attacks and undermining, un-Australian behaviour towards myself and my team, has been ongoing and terms dictated to the team," Senator Culleton wrote.

“I can no longer tolerate the lack of party support for my positive initiatives, including the recent abandonment of PHON’s pre-election commitment to a Banking Royal Commission.

“My commitment remains, to represent every constituent to the best of my ability.”

Senator Culleton fell out with One Nation leader Pauline Hanson, with the rift growing and becoming public over the last few weeks.
