One dead after Vic house fire

A person has died in a house fire in Victoria's west.

The blaze took hold of the house in Maroona, west of Melbourne, on Saturday night.

Firefighters working to extinguish the fire found a body inside and investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.

The deceased has yet to be identified, police said.
