Olympic champ charged with stealing

Champion Olympic diver Chantelle Lee Newbery will head to mediation over stealing allegations against her, a court has heard.

Newbery, who won gold in Athens 2004, did not appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday when her seven charges of stealing were heard.

Her lawyer Robert Burns said there was a "good chance" the charges would be withdrawn after mediation with the complainant.
