Offshore tax evasion bill in parliament

Australians hiding funds and investments offshore to avoid paying tax have been put on notice.

The federal government on Thursday introduced to parliament legislation to enable the tax office to crack down on taxpayers hiding funds overseas.

It implements an OECD scheme allowing the sharing of information between foreign tax authorities.
