Woman charged over Katherine killing

A woman has been charged with murder after one of her relatives was stabbed with a star picket in Katherine in the Northern Territory.

Police allege the 52-year-old got into a fight with the 51-year-old victim on Tuesday evening on O'Shea Terrace, stabbing her with a star picket.

The victim was taken to hospital but died on Wednesday morning.

Her relative has been remanded in custody and will appear before Katherine Magistrates Court on Thursday.
