A group of teenage girls have been accused of crashing a car during a drunken 130km/h joy ride in Alice Springs.

Two girls, aged 14 and 16, allegedly crashed the car into a traffic light after stealing it from a hotel carpark and driving at speeds of up to 130km/h on Friday night, police say.

The suspects were arrested shortly after running away but a third girl, who restarted the car and ditched it in a town camp, hasn't been caught.
