Two arrested in Katherine drugs bust

A Katherine man has been charged after police allegedly discovered methamphetamines in his underpants.

The 51-year-old man tested positive to a random drug swab after he was pulled over by police on Wednesday.

Officers then allegedly discovered methamphetamine in his underwear and over $4000 in cash.

Later on Wednesday, police with drug-detector dogs raided a home in Katherine, finding almost 16 grams of methamphetamine and some cannabis.

A 33-year-old resident and the 51-year-old man have been charged with drug offences and remanded in custody to appear in court on Thursday.
