Third girl arrested over NT car theft

A third girl wanted by police for stealing and crashing a car in Alice Springs has been arrested.

The 15-year-old was found by police in the early hours of Tuesday and charged over the incident, in which she and two other girls aged 14 and 16 allegedly stole a car from a hotel on Friday night and crashed it in the Alice Springs CBD, before eventually abandoning it in Charles Creek.

Her alleged accomplices were arrested on Saturday.

The girl has been charged with seven offences, including aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle, trespassing, stealing, and property damage.

She will appear in the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court on Wednesday.
