Teen pair arrested over NT store robbery

Two teens will face court after allegedly robbing a Palmerston store and threatening staff with a metal pole.

The two boys, aged 16 and 17, visited the shop on Thursday before returning later in the afternoon, when the eldest one allegedly threatened staff with a metal pole and tried to break into the cash register.

He stole some cigarettes and ran away before police spotted the duo and arrested them at a local home.

The 16-year-old has been charged with a number of offences to appear in court on April 12 while the 17-year-old was charged with nine offences, including property damage, stealing, trespassing and aggravated robbery, to appear in court on May 13.
