Severe storms to hit NT desert country

Severe thunderstorms may bring damaging winds, heavy rain and flash flooding to parts of the Northern Territory's desert country.
The warning, issued by the Bureau of Meteorology on Tuesday evening, affects parts of the southwest Simpson and southern Lasseter forecast districts.
The storms brought a 92km/h wind gust to Alice Springs airport just after 4pm on Tuesday.

Severe thunderstorm warnings have also been issued for damaging winds in parts of the southern Daly and eastern Gregory districts.
