Pre-teens steal, crash cars in Darwin

A group of 11 and 12-year-old boys have allegedly stolen two cars and deliberately crashed them through the gates of Darwin businesses.

The three boys, two of whom were on bail, stole a Volkswagen Polo from a business in Winnellie before crashing it through its gates between Monday and Tuesday, police say.

It's alleged they did the same thing after stealing a four-wheel drive from another business.

Two boys were arrested on Wednesday and will appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court on Friday charged with offences including trespass, stealing and damage to property.

Another 12-year-old boy received a Youth Diversion.
