NT woman charged over stabbing murder

A Northern Territory woman has been charged with the murder of a 42-year-old man in Katherine.

Police say a domestic disturbance occurred on the Victoria Highway in Katherine South in the early hours of Monday morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Lee Morgan said the man suffered stab wounds to his chest.

"Detectives have recovered a knife they believe may have been used in the incident," he said.

Police have also charged the 39-year-old woman with two counts of assault and trespassing.

She was refused bail to appear in Katherine Local Court on Thursday.
