NT man wanted over sex offences escapes

A man wanted in connection with serious sex offences is on the run after escaping from a police station in the Northern Territory.

The 20-year-old escaped from police custody at Yulara on Friday afternoon.

He's described as being of indigenous appearance, slim and about 175cm tall.

"The man is wanted in connection with serious sexual offences, and was being conveyed to the rear of a police vehicle by officers, when he fled," NT Police said.

"He is considered dangerous and police urge members of the public not to approach him, and report any sightings to police on 131 444 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000."
