NT man died in Ngukurr on New Year's Day

A 24-year-old man has died following a single car crash in a remote indigenous community on New Year's Day.
The crash occurred on the main street of the Ngukurr community in Arnhem Land on Wednesday afternoon.
The man was ejected from the car, which police said had been observed driving erratically before the crash.

He later died as a result of injuries.
Major Crash Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
It is the first life lost on NT roads this year.
Thirty-five people died on Northern Territory roads in 2019, compared with 50 the previous year.
