NT man charged with child abuse offences

A Northern Territory man has been charged with numerous child abuse offences, including intercourse with a child aged under 10.

Police said the 67-year-old was arrested on Friday after a raid a Palmerston residence, during which police seized computers and hard drives.

The man was charged with 27 offences, including seven counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 16, seven counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 10, eight charges of indecent dealing with a child under 10, maintaining a sexual relationship with a child and exposing a child to indecent material.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on Monday.
