NT man charged over meth bust

A traffic stop has turned into a drug bust in Alice Springs, with a man charged with possessing 56 grams of methamphetamine.

Police stopped a car on Milner Rd at 11.25am on Friday and allegedly found the drugs along with almost $6000 in cash.

They later searched his home and found more methamphetamine and fireworks.

A 42-year-old man has been charged with possessing and supplying a commercial quantity of methamphetamine, and possessing fireworks, among other charges.

He will appear at the Alice Springs Magistrates Court at a later date.
