Mentally impaired woman arrested in NT

A mentally impaired Aboriginal woman who was held in a West Australian prison for 21 months has been arrested for the second time since her release.

Rosie Anne Fulton, 24, was detained in Kalgoorlie Prison after she was charged over crashing a stolen car, but was deemed unfit to stand trial because she has fetal alcohol syndrome and the mental age of a young child.

Fulton was recently sent back to her hometown of Alice Springs to live under the supervised care of staff from the Northern Territory Health Department.

Days after returning, she was charged with damaging property and assaulting police.

After appearing in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court last week, she was granted bail.

But Fulton was arrested again over the weekend for breaching her bail conditions.

She was scheduled to appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on Monday.
