Man found dead on Darwin street

Northern Territory police are calling for any witnesses to the suspicious death of a man in Darwin to come forward.

A crime scene is still in place in the northern beaches suburb of Nightcliff after police found a 22-year-old man collapsed on the footpath near a roundabout on Progress Drive after being called at about 11pm on Thursday.

Police told the ABC they could not speculate on the cause of death, but said the man had very serious injuries to his right biceps, and had lost a lot of blood.

Police said it seemed the man had walked from the nearby Litchfield Court unit block to the footpath where he was found.

Forensic analysis is underway, and police said any witnesses to the incident should come forward, or anyone who might have witnessed a disturbance or an injured person on the bike path near the intersection of Trower Road and Progress Drive.

They particularly want to hear from anyone in the area between 9.00pm and 11.00pm on Thursday night.
