Flood relief for Alice Springs
AAP
Communities hit by flash flooding around Alice Spring in December will be handed some financial relief from the federal and Northern Territory governments.
Heavy rain brought relief for local cattlemen late in 2015 but caused widespread flooding in Kulgera, the West MacDonnell Ranges and various other communities.
Federal Justice Minister Michael Keenan and Northern Territory Chief Minister Adam Giles say assistance will be provided through the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.

"The financial support announced today will assist local agencies to restore vital infrastructure and will create local jobs and opportunities for more work participation," Mr Giles said.
