Elderly NT man dies after street incident

An elderly man who was knocked to the ground during an incident in a Darwin street earlier this month has died in hospital.

The man hit his head in the incident in the early hours of August 9.

The 68-year-old did not recover and he died in hospital on Friday.

"Police have identified two people involved in the incident however investigations are ongoing and at this stage no arrests have been made," NT Police says in a statement.

"Police would still like to speak to anyone who was in Mitchell Street at around 2am ... who may have seen or heard the altercation."

Security camera footage shows a number of people in the street at the time, and witnesses are urged to come forward.
