Coalition vows $8m for NT netball stadium

Darwin will get an $8 million new netball stadium if the coalition is re-elected, says the Member for Solomon.

The Country Liberals' Natasha Griggs, who holds the seat by a slim 1.4 per cent margin, said in a statement on Monday that the new indoor stadium will have three courts including one show-court suitable for televised games, and will be able to host national and international competitions.

"Darwin is the only Australian capital without an international standard netball stadium and it is about time our local athletes were able to compete on a level playing field," she said. "This is about providing sports infrastructure suitable for attracting role models in the sport to come to Darwin and growing the capacity of our local players to compete on the national stage."
