The federal coalition has promised another $130 million for road upgrades in the Northern Territory if re-elected.

That includes $28 million for sealing about 60km on the Outback Way to improve cattle transport routes, $62 million for flood mitigation works on the Arnhem Highway, and $40 million for the Keep River road near WA border, which could potentially open up stage three of the Ord River scheme, Northern Australia Minister Matt Canavan said in a statement on Monday.

"The investment in Northern Territory roads forms part of the Coalition's plan to strengthen economic development opportunities and create jobs and growth in Northern Australia," he said.
