NT, ACT to push ahead on euthanasia

In the wake of Victoria's legalisation of voluntary euthanasia, the Northern Territory and ACT will lobby the federal government to lift a ban stopping them from following suit.

Victoria became the first Australian state to pass assisted dying laws in November last year.

ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr said on Friday it was absurd for the ban to remain, following a meeting of federal, state and territory leaders.
