NSW man charged in stabbing of mum, girl

A man has been charged over an alleged stabbing attack on a mother and her daughter in Sydney's inner west.

The 22-year-old woman was stabbed in the neck, shoulder and stomach during a fight with a 24-year-old man in Strathfield on Thursday morning, police say.

The woman's 49-year-old mother also suffered a minor stab wound to her arm.

Both were taken to St George Hospital for their injuries.

The 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with wounding a person and intent to cause grievous bodily harm and reckless wounding.

He's been refused bail and is due to appear in Burwood Local Court on Friday.
