Woman seriously injured after being struck by truck in Sydney’s west

A woman has been seriously injured after she was struck by a truck in Sydney’s west this morning.
The collision happened shortly after 6.30am on Pitt Street, Merrylands, near Sheffield Street.
The woman, who is believed to be aged in her 20s or 30s, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital with multiple injuries.
Pitt St is closed at Sheffield Street, with commuters facing lengthy delays.
Traffic is being diverted via Sheffield Street and Manchester Street.
The truck driver has been taken to Westmead Hospital to undergo mandatory blood and urine tests.
Detectives from the Crash Investigation Unit remain on the scene.
