Woman killed in motorcycle crash near Bathurst

A woman has died and a man is in a serious condition in hospital after their motorcycle crashed near Bathurst yesterday.

Emergency services were called to reports of a crash on the Great Western Highway near Diamond Swamp Road just after 10.30am.

Police were told a motorcycle with two riders crashed on the highway while travelling westbound.

One of the riders, a 50-year-old woman, died at the scene.

The second rider, a 51-year-old man, was treated by paramedics and then flown to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

Police established a crime scene and will investigate the crash.
