Woman in court over alleged racial attack

A woman who allegedly launched a racial attack on a teenage girl on a train is expected to appear in a Sydney court on Tuesday.

Police say the 15-year-old girl was on a train from Parramatta to Lidcombe with friends when at about lunchtime on June 8 a woman began verbally abusing her.

After the alleged racial attack, police say the woman then grabbed the girl and hit her across the face a number of times before getting off the train.

A 34-year-old woman was later charged with common assault and is expected to front Burwood Local Court on Tuesday.
