Woman hit by bus in NSW's Hunter region

A woman is seriously injured after being hit by a bus in NSW's Hunter region.

The 54-year-old was crossing Gan Gan Road at Anna Bay just before 4.15pm on Tuesday when she was struck, however the exact circumstances were still under investigation, police said.

The bus driver stopped after the crash and a random breath test came back negative.

The woman was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with serious injuries.
