Woman charged with Sydney break enter

A woman has been charged with threatening a man with a knife inside a Sydney bedroom before fleeing with his iPod.

Police say the 19-year-old was found inside the kitchen of a high-needs support residency in Leichhardt about 3.15am on Saturday.

She was then confronted in the car park of the Moore Street property before re-entering the building, police say.

It's alleged she walked into a bedroom armed with a knife and demanded a man's phone.

Police say the man disarmed her before she bolted with his iPod.

A woman was arrested a short distance away and charged with offences including armed robbery and break and enter.

She was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.
