A Sydney woman has allegedly blown more than three times the legal blood alcohol limit, after being stopped in her Volvo with three children in the back seat.

Police say the 44-year-old woman was given a roadside breath test just after 8am on Sunday after attempting a U-turn on the Hume Highway near Liverpool.

After returning a breath reading of 0.183 at Liverpool Police Station, she was charged with high-range drink-driving and had her licence suspended. She was given conditional bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court on July 13.
