Wayside Chapel expands into Bondi

Sydney's iconic Wayside Chapel is expanding its inner-city footprint to the eastern suburbs.

The Kings Cross staple will take management of the Chapel by the Sea in Bondi Beach from Friday, with $400,000 worth of upgrades and redevelopments on the horizon.

"With the expansion into Bondi Beach, The Wayside Chapel will further spread its mission of creating community with no `us and them' and build on the legacy of the Chapel by the Sea to address issues affecting the Bondi community, including social isolation, mental health, addiction and homelessness," chief executive Reverend Graham Long said on Monday.
