WA pair to front Syd court on drug charges

A man and woman from Perth will face a Sydney court on drug charges after NSW police allegedly caught them with more than half a kilogram of ice.

The 36-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were stopped by police in the inner-city suburb of Pyrmont early on Thursday.

Officers searched a nearby car where they allegedly found more than 570 grams of methylamphetamine.

Police will also allege the car had been stolen from Victoria.

The man and woman are expected to face Central Local Court on Friday charged with possessing a prohibited drug, supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and goods in custody.
