Van ploughs into Sydney house

Residents at a house in Sydney's northwest have received an almighty shock, with a van ploughing into their home.

The vehicle veered off Kurmond Road and crashed into the house about 8.30pm on Tuesday, leaving the 33-year-old male driver with fractures and internal injuries, police say.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital and is believed to be in a critical condition, while the occupants of the house were not injured.
