Ute ploughs into home, driver on the run

The driver of a ute who ploughed into the front of a house in Sydney's west and then ran away is wanted by police.

The Holden Commodore crashed into the home on Dryden Avenue in Oakhurst at 6.30pm on Saturday, hurtling through the fence and into the front half of the home, police say.

A family including two children were in the lounge room at the time and were "lucky to escape unhurt", said Inspector Michael Bailey from the Quakers Hill Command.

The male driver and a 17-year-old female passenger ran from the scene of the crash, however police have since identified and interviewed the teenage girl.

Police are still making inquiries as to the identity of the driver.
