Two men try to flee police in cocaine bust
Two men tried to flee police in inner-city Sydney on Friday night when their vehicle was stopped after police witnessed what they believed to be a drug transaction.
The men were stopped by police officers after another man entered the vehicle and police allege conducted a drug deal.
The men then tried to speed off in their Toyota Corolla, while a female officer was still holding the door of the car open.
The men tried to get away by driving down the opposite side of Crown Street in Surry Hills the wrong way but never made it beyond the street.
They were then arrested and police searched the vehicle where they located 16 individual bags of cocaine and $1700 cash.
The 20-year-old driver of the car was charged with drug offences and dangerous driving, while the 18-year-old passenger was charged with drug offences.
The duo are set to appear in court on Saturday.
