Two men died in fatal crashes in NSW

Two men have died in separate crashes on the NSW north coast and New England regions.

Emergency services were called to St Helena, near Byron Bay, just before 3.15am on Sunday.

A 69-year-old man was found unresponsive by passing drivers after his car veered off the road and hit a tree.

He died at the scene.

Emergency services were also called to a crash on the New England Highway in Bendemeer, west of Tamworth, about 8am.

Police have been told a motorcyclist hit a kangaroo, fell off his bike and was hit by a passing ute.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, died at the scene.
