Two kilograms of the drug ice seized in Sydney’s south-west

A man and woman have been charged after allegedly being caught with two kilograms of the drug ‘ice’ in south-west Sydney today.

Police arrested 38-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman in a carpark in Ambarvale, near Campbelltown, at about 10am.

The alleged bust was made as part of a major investigation into the supply of the drug ice, also known as methylamphetamine, in the Macarthur region.

The pair were then taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where they were both charged supplying a prohibited drug in a large commercial quantity. The man was also charged with other drug supply offences.

Soon after the arrests, police raised three homes and allegedly uncovered another stash of ‘ice’, and a large amount of cash and heroin. The homes were in Ambarvale and Rosemeadow.

Detectives also arrested a 37-year-old man at Liverpool Hospital, where he is being treated for an unrelated illness.

He has been charged with two counts of supplying drugs in large quantities.

Police inquiries are ongoing.
