Two charged over World Cup Cricket brawl

Two men have been charged in relation to a brawl at a western Sydney club during the telecast of the India-Pakistan World Cup match on Sunday.

Four people were treated in hospital for cuts and bruises after the fight broke out between about 40 fans at Merrylands RSL club.

Two men, aged 18 and 20, were arrested on Monday and charged overnight with riot and affray.

They have been given bail and will appear in Fairfield Local Court on March 11.

Video footage captured by a bystander during the fight shows chairs and tables being hurled through the air.

Police are continuing their investigations into the brawl and say they expect to make further arrests.

The match was the first between the two countries in almost a year with India winning by 76 runs.
